Gluten Free Fast! Are you with Me?

Aloha! After having been a way for a while to catch up on my life and take a break from blogging on two blogs (my primary being my photography blog: Elena Photographers, Longview WA Photographers), I am back [at least I think I am ;)].

I feel energized. I had created a new morning routine that has been working wonders for me, and, after a bit of a slump with my green smoothie intake, I am back!!! This morning my green smoothie was:

Radish & Orange Green Smoothie
• Big handful of radish greens
• 2 oranges (seeded)
• 2 plums
• 2 tbs hemp seed
• Blend until smooth (I use Vita-Mix to do the job)
• Enjoy!

My husband had recently experienced discomfort in his knees and I suggested for him to get off all gluten products, as much as possible. He did. Within just a few days he felt a relief. At this point he is not trying to completely quit all bread products; however, since I was disappointed with Vita-Mix’s dry blade container and returned it, I have not been grinding my own flour, which means that the store-bought flour, although organic, is not optimal for our health.

This morning I realized that it will soon be a year since I went on a 2-month gluten free fast last year and it is time to do it again to clean out my system. I would have started again today, however, I invited over my sister and brother-in-law for dinner and already planned a menu that involves bread products, I am going to start tomorrow.

One month—absolutely GLUTEN FREE! I am actually looking forward to it, because it means that I have to get back in the kitchen and awaken my creative muse.

So, why am I blogging about my decision? Well, the moment I click on the PUBLISH button I become accountable to my readers and have to live up to my word. However, that is not really the reason I am blogging about it—I can stay accountable to myself NO PROBLEM. The reason I am blogging about my decision is to see if I can get you—my readers—involved as well.

Want to try a GLUTEN FREE life for just a month? Want to see how your body will thrive without wheat products? I then invite you to join me.

If I get any takers, I will, on my end, commit to blog as many gluten free meals as possible in the next 30 days. I will give you tips, hints, and recipes—you won’t be left alone. There are already many recipes on my blog, most of them, actually, do not call for wheat, but I will add even more fun, delicious GLUTEN FREE dishes you can enjoy at home.

I might even create a “by invitation only” forum where we can talk about all the gritty details of living a whole foods, GLUTEN FREE life. I know that it is possible—I have done it before.

So, any takers? Leave a comment and let me know if you are with me!!!
